Alexis Finch

Alexis Finch

Founder and Producer/Wardrobe
Alexis arrived in the flatlands of Chicago from the hilly country of the Northeast without a bicycle. She made it through a BA in Anthropology at UofC as well as a number of years working in the depths of the Field Museum without realizing that the same lack of topography that caused her visual ire made for perfect cycling. She began bicycling modestly on a hefty old cruiser rescued from a thrift store for $10. It wasn’t long though before the serious addiction hit and couches were being moved out to make room for a bike stand, frames and wheelsets. Even as Alexis was shifting into the cycling scene, she also snagged an MA in Advertising and landed a job doing global market research. After two years of researching package design and product innovation, riding her technicolor bicycle through seven countries, and playing more bike polo abroad than at home, Alexis finally settled down to a regular advertising gig. Between the client briefs, focus groups and creative reviews that are the lifeblood of a strategic planner, she’s still keeping things spicy with TyK. With the third year of Ladies PinUps and Cycling Gents she’s pleased to continue uniting the cycling community for the sake of women’s health.

Jana Kinsman
Print Designer/Illustrator | http://quitestrong.com/about/members/jana/

Since working on band flyers in high school, Jana has developed her own visual voice through illustration and street art. Now, as an ”adult”, she works on illustrated products for CB2, has done a giant doodle installation at The Whistler, and can routinely be found drawing on napkins all around Chicago. Her day job involves graphic design and brand management, which helps balance out her quirky, penchant for pen scribbling side. Jana is also 1/5 of the city’s all-female creative collaborative, Quite Strong. Together they tackle creative projects, offering everything from web design to art direction to illustration, all the while providing a voice and resource for other females in commercial art.
